Where is the Ocean Point Surf Camp located?

The Ocean Point Surf Camp is located in Imsouane, a small coastal town 4 hours south of Marrakech. Imsouane lies between Essaouira and Agadir on the wave-rich Atlantic. The nearest airports are in Agadir (1 hour 30 minutes), Essaouira (1 hour) and Marrakech (4 hours). Europe based, With the plane you are about 4 hours from Morocco.  Imsouane is the perfect place to surf all year round, see a different landscape and enjoy 300 days of sunshine a year. How do I get to you?

The fastest way to reach us is by plane. The three closest airports are in Agadir, Essaouira and Marrakech. Even low-cost airlines such as Easyjet and Ryanair fly to all three airports. We recommend sites like Skyscanner or Expedia to find cheap flights. You can also book a shuttle service with us. Alternatively, you can book a rental car at the airport.   

The prices from Essaouria and Agadir to Imsouane are around € 60. From Marrakech it is about 100 € - 120 €.

 

When can i arrive?

In principle, you can arrive at any time. However, your accommodation is not always ready before 2:00 p.m., as our cleaning staff must first prepare everything. If you want to arrive in the morning and the accommodation is not yet available, you can explore the area in peace, walk to the beach or simply have a coffee in our camp. You can leave your suitcase with us. The official departure is by 12 noon.

What does the arrival and departure usually look like?
Your room is usually ready for occupancy around 2 p.m. on the first day of arrival. Of course, you can also arrive earlier and look around the camp or in the area, drink coffee or have lunch. It really starts at 7.30 p.m. with a great dinner. After the meal, our team introduces itself and explains how the next days will go.

 

There are no yoga or surf lessons on the first and last day. On the last day, you can use the surfboard and wetsuit until 6 p.m.

 

You can have a relaxed breakfast with us on the day of departure. The checkout takes place until 12 noon so that our cleaning staff can prepare the accommodation for future guests. But you can stay all day and surf until 6 p.m.

 

Is the price of an air ticket included in the packages?

Our package prices do not include the flight costs. We cannot be responsible for your trip to Morocco and back. This must be paid for yourself.


Do I need a visa to come to Morocco?
Citizens of the European Union do not need a visa to enter Morocco for up to 3 months. On the day of departure from Morocco, the passport must be valid for at least 6 months.

Do I need insurance?

We do not insure you during your stay at Ocean Point. If you book a stay at Ocean Point, you must take out travel insurance and liability insurance that cover the entire stay, travel and medical care.

 

When you book your stay with us, you confirm that you have taken out personal travel insurance / health insurance / accident insurance and liability insurance for the entire duration of your stay.

 

What is the national currency and where can I change money?

The currency in Morocco is the Moroccan dirham.

 

1 euro is about 10 Moroccan dirhams. Dirhams cannot be exchanged for other currencies outside of Morocco.

 

Imsouane is a small town with no bank or ATM to withdraw money. When you arrive in Morocco, you can change money on arrival at the exchange office of the airport where you landed. The exchange rates in Morocco are roughly the same. Please note that services that are not included in our packages must be paid for in cash (events, excursions, drinks, etc.). You can also pay in euros with us.

 

Can I come with my family and children?

Children are of course very welcome at Ocean Point. However, adults are responsible for the children themselves, since we have no surf instructors who take special care of children. We do not offer surfing lessons for minors under the age of 16.

 

What language is spoken in Morocco?

The official language in Morocco is Arabic. The locals in Imsouane are Berbers and speak their own dialect, Arabic and French. The young generation also speaks excellent English.
